Build Up San Mateo County is taking applications for infrastructure grants to help child care providers strengthen or expand their facilities and support children's health, safety, and well-being.

What kind of grant is it?

Grants are one-time awards ranging from $4,500 to $15,000. This funding is available for infrastructure projects completed between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.

What is the funding goal?

To enhance access to safe, inclusive, and climate-ready child care environments, especially in underserved communities. Grants will be awarded to support:

  • Renovation, repair, or expansion of child care facilities (especially for infants and toddlers)

  • Disaster preparedness retrofits (e.g., fire safety, backup power)

  • Sustainability and climate resilience upgrades (e.g., air quality, LED lighting, drought-tolerant landscaping, tree planting)

Who should apply?
