Build Up Green Spaces (BUGS)
EARLY CHILDHOOD CLIMATE SUMMIT

The Farallon Room at Skyline College
This summit will bring together leaders and practitioners from early childhood education, sustainability, public health, and local government to launch the first county-level Climate Action Plan focused on early childhood and child care facilities and address climate realities as we reimagine child care facilities as frontline spaces for climate resilience.
Canopy Tree Planting

In partnership with Canopy, Build Up SMC hosted our first climate-resiliency event bringing volunteers, families, educators and local residents together to plant trees and create healthier, cooler outdoor spaces at three early learning sites in East Palo Alto. Preschool Tree Planting at North Fair Oaks

Build Up SMC is hosting another exciting tree planting in North Fair Oaks in partnership with Canopy and California Interfaith Power & Light. We will be planting many trees at Izzi Early Education Center on Middlefield Road and honoring Supervisor Lisa Gauthier, District 4 with a special tree planting ceremony. The event brings together families and community members to increase the urban canopy and create healthier, cooler outdoor spaces for children in North Fair Oaks.
